New Finance Director

Wabtec Rail Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of Giles Brown as their new Finance Director, to replace Bob Johnson who retired at the end of 2009. Giles joins Wabtec Rail from Porterbrook Leasing where he was the Senior Finance Manager for six years. Prior to this Giles trained as an auditor in London before joining Toyota where he became fully conversant in the methodology of kaizen.

His role will be to assist the company in its primary objective of being the best technology based value added supplier to the UK & European traction & rolling stock aftermarket. Giles will bring his financial experience to the role to assist Wabtec in continuing to focus on meeting its customer’s demands.

To support the continued development of Wabtec, Giles also brings valuable experience in system upgrades, which Wabtec is committed to performing in 2010.

New HR Manager

Wabtec Rail Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of Jackie Spendlove as their new HR Manager, to replace Janet Hailes who retired at the end of 2009. Jackie joins Wabtec Rail from MTL Group, an engineering and metals processing company in Sheffield, where she was HR Manager for 5 years during which time she helped the company double in size. Previously Jackie’s HR experience had been mainly in the logistics industry.

Her role will be to assist the company in its primary objective of being the best technology based value added supplier to the UK & European traction & rolling stock aftermarket. Jackie brings a wealth of HR knowledge and experience to the role which will enable her to focus on increasing the company’s skills base and its overall performance through its people at all levels within the business.

Jackie is looking forward to becoming an integral part of the senior management team at Wabtec Rail and assisting the company to increase its market share
and profitability.

New Engineering Director

Wabtec Rail Limited is delighted to announce, with immediate effect, the appointment of Dave Brennen as their new Engineering Director. Dave joined Wabtec Rail in January 2009 as Engineering Manager and subsequently became Head of Engineering following last year’s re-organisation.

Dave started his career as a craft apprentice at British Rail Longsight in 1988. Subsequently he rose through the ranks and obtained a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Dave’s preceding role before joining Wabtec Rail was as Train Care Centre Manager at Wolverhampton for Alstom.

This new role reflects the importance which Wabtec Rail places on our engineering resource and its place in the company. Only by being an engineering led company can we drive forward and continue to grow our business.
